Carrying Out Entry Door Repair

Written by ETO Doors

Entry doors are subject to various abuses, be it from the weather or from wear. Moreover, passing large objects in and out of the house could have damaging effects on the door. The functioning of exterior wood doors are also prone to damages from the cold, rain, heat and snow. The factors that would need to be focused on are the alignment and adjustment of the door, the malfunctioning of the hardware and wearing out of the weatherstrip.

Rusty Hinges

Doors are usually supported by hinges. There are generally three or four of these on exterior doors. Hinges might be subject to rust quickly and start binding, which makes it difficult for the door to be closed. Moreover, rusty hinges tend to make a lot of noise. In order to solve this issue, you might either consider lubricating and replacing the hinges.

Door Knob

A way to revamp the appearance of a door is to replace the door knob. The front door looks better with oversized knobs. These are aesthetically pleasing and makes it easy to locate the knob. For the entry door, the knob can be chosen in a material that would not be prone to rust such as stainless steel or copper.

Varnishing

Varnish comes in different forms whether transparent, a protective film or a hard coating. Depending on the finish that your door already has, a new layer of varnish would instantly provide a new look to the door.

ETO Doors proposes a large choice of doors for the indoors and outdoors. Some of their product offerings also include front doors.
